I discovered this beautiful line of handbags years ago at a show in New York. I had never seen anything like them. They are a truly unique line of handbags handcrafted by Lukasz and Bozenna Bogucki in their Los Angeles Studio. The collection consists of 60 models all named after famous operas.
Several grades of stainless steel wire mesh are used: from the fine one with the appearance and feel of silk, to the rigid one that serves mostly as support. Special affects are achieved by various treatments involving ultrasounds, high temperature, and pressure.

Lukasz and Bozenna, who met during their student years at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, Poland and were married in 1996, were inspired by the fine silk like wire mesh they created, and began making elegant handbags in 2000. We are lucky enough to get them to send us some every now and then. The quality of the workmanship is superb. The detachable and adjustable straps make the bag versatile, and the size of the bags allow for the storage of all the essentials needed in an evening bag with room to spare.
