Wandering down the sidewalk in NYC many years ago I was stopped in my tracks when I saw three Sophie Digard scarves in a shop window. I had never seen anything like them before and I had to know who was making them and how. It turned out it was a delightful French woman named Sophie.
Sophie Digarddesigns them in Paris, chooses her materials (wool, linen, cotton or raphia for her bags), dyes them, and then works with women in Madagascar who hand crochet these impossibly intricate and beautiful scarves. We fortunately have become one of a small number of stores in the US that is lucky enough to get an order from her studio twice a year!
